join us at our Women in VC: Key Tax Considerations for Venture Capital Funds, Founders and Operators webinar on Thursday, July 20th from 2-3pm ET (11am-12pm PT) for a discussion with Lowenstein Sandler's Lesley AdamoMeredith Beuchaw, Alyssa Frederick, Sophia Mokotoff, Chandra Shih, & Kristin Taylor as they provide insight on how to navigate common tax issues for venture funds.

Lesley is Vice Chair of the Tax Group. She provides counsel on a variety of transactional tax matters, including in connection with mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and the various tax issues specific to startup businesses and their founders. Lesley is also a Director and Vice President of the New York Women’s Bar Association Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) which supports and funds charitable and philanthropic programs to aid women and children throughout Manhattan and beyond.

Meredith has 15+ years of experience leading M&A transactions. Based in our New York office, she represents buyers and sellers of venture and PE-backed companies. Meredith was previously a partner at Cooley. She earned her BA at Dartmouth and her JD from Duke Law (where she has served as a visiting lecturer on venture M&A).

Alyssa has spent the last decade in the SF Bay area representing venture capital funds and the startups and growth companies they back in venture deals, PE deals and M&A. Prior to her time at Lowenstein Sandler she practiced at Wilson Sonsini. She earned her BA at Yale and her JD from NYU Law.

Sophia is based in our New York office and represents venture funds and portfolio companies (among a wide range of other clients) in their transactional tax matters, including structuring and negotiation of taxable and tax-free M&A transactions, divestitures, restructurings, financings, joint ventures, and other major transactions. She earned her BA from Wellesley College and her JD from Brooklyn Law School.

Chandra has 10+ years of experience representing growth stage and early stage startups and venture capital funds and other angel and strategic investors. Based in our Palo Alto office, she helps lead the firm’s Women’s Initiative Network and Diversity Leadership Network and is dedicated to advancing DEI initiatives at the firm and beyond. She earned her BA and JD at Santa Clara University.

Kristin handles transactional tax matters at the federal, state, and local levels and represents individuals and businesses at all stages of development. Her clients turn to her for day-to-day guidance and assistance in developing strategies to address matters ranging from sales and use taxes to issues related to foreign operations. Skilled in creating practical solutions, she also advises clients in connection with mergers and acquisitions, securitizations, restructuring transactions, joint ventures, cross-border transactions, and real estate investment.
